Sometimes I wonder how the heck people end up here. On my site I mean.
I mainly wonder why so many people want quotes on high fives. (Any reader of Dinosaur comics can tell you that the high fives frequently fly around there by the way.) Nobody gives high fives anymore, right? Well I never get any.
Quotes are actually most commonly searched for when getting here. Roll through the gates of hell, I’m sorry, we’re fresh out of that, but what I can give you is UNTIMELY DEATH, even She punched him in the face though I didn’t actually know that WAS one. And yes people do enter entire long sentences in their search fields directly. It works pretty well, leads you to the source 90% unless the source is unknown.
Another popular thing is sleep madness. Nowadays I’m hardly an expert on the subject, I’ve been raking up slacker points for months on end, but one post is good enough for tons of views. ‘Cause, y’know, to really find out the truth on something you go to blogs rather than scientifically acknowledged sites. Makes perfect sense. =)
Relationships as a search term are popular on valentine’s day. Again, going to the blog of a 20-something psychologist wannabee might not be the cleverest thing to do when you want proper advice. But I guess it’s better than some of the pessimistic doom-thinking stuff others put up.
And now comes the real surprise, the one that makes you think. Defense mechanism. Very popular search term. I can’t figure out HOW that leads to my rants though. I looked it up… 12 pages into Google there’s still no sign of any High Five’ing going on. You get to ’squirrel defense mechanisms’ long before that. Squirrels! Why would you trudge on through more and more boring links when you can read about, and possibly even see pictures of cute little squirrels? With beady eyes and fluffy pelts? And furry ears and little hands and nibbling all the time? Nope, let’s find a post by some amateur making (reasonably educated, but still) guesses at how the human mind works!
Either way, this stuff is raking in the pageviews for me. There hasn’t been a single day on this blog so far that ended up having 0 views. Dunno wether to be impressed or scared.
Hahaha!
That’s a brilliant post — and so true… I was actually looking for info on Voicst and you have a coupla posts on them. I think that’s a fairly sane way to find someone’s blog :D
Oh, by the way, did you hear the rest of the new Bloc Party album yet? (I know you wrote all this ages and ages ago, but still…) Never really liked them much before, but the first couple of tracks on it (Ares and, er, Mercury) are great. Well, I think so anyway…
I’ll leave you alone now.
Best,
S.
Wow, a normal reply, don’t get those a lot. ^^;
Yes I heard the new Bloc Party and will post about it somewhen, busybusybusy now.
I ended up here because I just searched up “Internet High Five” as my friends and I usually give them. We’re just so darn cool like that.
I was searching for this site: http://www.ihighfive.com/
That’s why I ended up here. And I still give high fives frequently! :D
