Yes, I’m alive. And living up to promises! *gasps*
Yes, I am in fact, going to write about Voicst. As I should be. Can’t believe I managed to NOT rant about the concert for so long.In all unbiased honesty, this was my best concert-experience so far. Easily beats the singer of the Kaiser Chiefs jumping right over me and being in the front row with a The Prodigy concert. It was better than that.
Even though 013 in Tilburg is a quite tiny hall and didn’t have all that much people in it, the band still managed to get everyone jumping up and down like crazy people. Then again, for Voicst that’s no surprise. I’ve yet to hear a band this energetic, both on the albums aswell as at concerts.
At the concerts it seems like everything and everyone is moving, including the bandmembers themselves. It’s impressive they have energy enough to last through the whole setlist and to keep sounding as bloody great as they do.
If I was an experienced reviewer with knowledge of music I’d be able to provide you with all kinds of descriptions and explanations as to WHY Voicst is so awesome… But I’m not, so listen for yourself ok? But let’s see if I can give you the main idea… Brilliant rythm, equally brilliant melodies, a general sound that will make even a boring party full of annoying people be fun and interesting, great lyrics, a very good balance between instruments and vocals and a MASSIVE amount of energy added into all that.
And the new members of the band add even more energy along with a great sound, which works both at concerts and on the CD. I’m amazed by how even with adding a bunch of completely new elements to their songs, Voicst still sounds like Voicst. Well, no… Better than that.
Instead of a review this is turning into fan-crazed raving isn’t it? Well, prepare for more.
Joppe (the drummer) gave me a beer! :P Thanks Joppe, that was awesome. I was also one of the people who got to sit on the stage during Two Devils, and managed to score autographs of the three ‘main’ Voicst members, along with Rutger’s autograph and one from Gram, the opening act. So I was quite happy that evening. ^^
To make a long fan-girl story short… Voicst is a great band. Listen to their music and go see them, and be converted. >.>
You know you want to! (Also as soon as I get the sound to work on my video’s I’ll post them on here.)
